The Second Cup
Half an hour at the desk, every morning, photographed as a slow diary for one hundred days. A cup, a book, the same window.
Between the first and the second cup of tea, nothing is required of me. That half hour is the only reliable window in the day, and it is also the only time I can photograph a still life without moving anything.
The camera stays on the desk on a small tabletop tripod. Each morning I take one exposure at the same moment: when the second cup is set down.
The series ran for one hundred days. Ninety-two of those frames are in the final book; the other eight went to the archive.
A soft-bound book is available, as is a short print portfolio of twelve favorites.
